I was looking for a pattern that would be interesting to knit in DK although it calls for Fingering weight yarn I gave it a go. You can notice by clicking in the link that I did not do the bind off which is in the pattern but I love the shawl the way it is too Insatient by Christopher Salas PAID FOR PATTERN U6.
My hair dryer needed a basket and I decided that for fun without any help (pattern) I will try to create something new. I had a few attempts so please watch video and have a good, healthy laugh. Learning curve at least in my age is all about it - big, good laugh.
At the end I used Tunisian Crochet technique for a bottom and a single crochet stitch (I think) for the walls. I hope it will inspire you to grab a hook and try something new.
My suggestion what to knit for Christmas Present would be SOCKS. You always need them and if you love them you would stick your feet up and enjoy the colours if not the warmth and knowledge that someone spent so much time to knit something for you will melt your heart. That's why I knitted a pair of Socks for Sebastian. I did 64sts, *k2, p2* ribbing for 20 rows and stockinet stitch plus Fish Lips Kiss Heel - paid for pattern for 1$ or in Ireland approx €1.23. I used Nako Boho yarn BUT, big BUT I cut some sections as I prefer it without them. Lovely knit, happy thoughts and another Finish Object.
Another amazing Jar Cover designed by Jenn Sheelen. I think it is such a cute idea for present or for yourself. I have already knitted one Jar Cover by Jenn Sheelen - Faerie's Lights. You need to check it too. You can get this pattern on revelry or save a bit and buy it from Jeen's website check links down below. I will be giving this for Christmas to my sister. No worries, she is not into my knitting adventures, she will not know.
First things first - it started all with the yarn first with On the Coldest Winter Night and then with Soul Society by WolffundSchafe.com - you need to check some other colour ways (especially Barbara on that website). Anyway,..... I wanted some special pattern and as this Wolf Woods Shawl has a word wolf in it and those amazing leaves I could not resist. I bought it on air in my knittingILove podcast ep 27 around 29:40.
